"I rule the world that I live in." Here, the voice of the dolphin, dominant male in a pod of seven circumnavigators, eight feet in length, scarred and powerful. He moved due west off Honolulu towards the fading sun melting into a watery horizon.
I was skipper of a sixty foot wooden schooner chasing that same sunset, making six knots on a starboard reach. We met upon a parallel course.
The yacht's helm was near water level and afforded me some twenty minutes of eye to eye contact with the leader; intelligent eyes that seemed to study me as intently as I studied 'the old man of the sea.'
